Designed by Ross Lovegrove, it is similar to a mobile crafted from sleek and shiny metal pieces. The lamps are encased in the sleek aluminum rock-shaped elements that are stylized dew drops suspended in mid-air under an upside down pond lily leaf. The shape of this unique lighting artwork can be interpreted in many ways. It is mostly decorative, since its light emission is not direct, but purely ambiental, reflected on the large aluminum disk.
A few rugs in different patterns and shades can really do the trick. In addition, they serve as chic space dividers. This is a great example of creativity, a blend of formal and casual items would do the purpose fairly well; get jumbo sized decorative articles, big flower vases, sculptures or even large lampshades if you want to make a style statement.
Sometimes the answer is as simple as relying on the furniture you already own. In the next image, a sofa distinguishes a living room from a bar area in a chic family home.
For hose who do not like having those flashy colors, light hued silk and velvet drapes are available in stores. Imagine transforming your living room into a comfy little den complete with furniture that sports motifs and scroll work. And, a quick work at polishing them would do wonders.
It is worth it if you love the Olympics. You will have fun reminiscing over the 1904 Summer Olympics, or more correctly, the Games of the III Olympiad. Held in St. Louis, Missouri, the marathon was talked about for years. Look up Frederick Lorz, the presumed winner (until someone outed him for his practical joke) and you will have a great story with which to impress your friends. You can tell them the trunk whispered this tale to you.
Both the sofa and the trunk look cool and fun, adding a tinge of color to any home decor. But the question is, are you going to be just as excited when the Olympics games are over? While it sounds neat to get your friends over and enjoy the games with a pint in your hand, paying £2399 and £629, respectively, is not exactly something that I’d call affordable.
Kundalini Light Design are skilled in their bold use of round, organic geometry in their products. An art piece of Guglielmo Berchicci , the ETA Sat Lamp looks like a huge bulb, somehow tropical, and creates a jolly atmosphere. It is hand-made with ecological resin on a metallic structure with a polycarbonate reflector body. An instant eye-catcher in any style of living room , whether in white, red or discreet yellow.
Cushion backed sofas are a big hit this season and, unsurprisingly, they feature heavily in the new designs for the L shaped sofa this season. These are great sofas for those who want to curl up in style.
Designers are also having a bit of fun with the L shaped sofa with some new innovations coming through. One particularly innovative design is shaped a bit like a ‘flump’ marshmallow and is made using a hard foam used for the seat and soft foam for the back. This design not only looks great and is super comfy, it also adds a lift to any living room, bringing a contemporary feel to the room. So, next time you are looking for a new sofa for your home, why not take a look at the many L shaped sofa designs out there and add that little extra something to your living room.
You can even accentuate the need for tradition with the help of strategically placed rustic items that look aged but keep the overall look contemporary and clutter-free. Personalize your living room with creative and artistic accents that give that feeling of tranquility and comfortable relaxation for you, your family and your guests.
